Who we are

Oculus, a new type of engineering consultancy. Our team includes specialists in structural engineering & building enclosure engineering (aka facade engineering), who have NZ and international best practice expertise, including a detailed knowledge of safety in design.

What we do

We are addressing the challenges of constructing in New Zealand, and the challenges are wide – ranging from seismic risks to ‘leaky buildings’ to health & safety legislation, or the building consent process. These risks all have potentially significant impacts to the design and construction process resulting in programme delays and unforeseen costs to the project, or even building failures and loss of life. We use our team’s capability to work closely together with design teams to develop elegant design solutions. At our core is a belief that each project is different and has its own, individual, challenges. These challenges are best overcome by addressing them clearly at commencement of the project, and managing them throughout the design and construction phases. Our extensive experience in the industry enables us to comprehensively assess issues that could arise and address them with an experienced, flexible & coordinated design approach.
