Outdoor Dance Fitness classes with Rachel Ruckstuhl-Mann.

I am an experienced facilitator, and bring a range of fitness and movement practices together in order to offer new modes of thinking about and developing fitness. My background includes contemporary dance, gymnastics, evolutionary movement, Somatics (body awareness practices), performance, capoeira and Māori movement arts.

Saturday morning sessions in Central Auckland engage your body and mind in ways that feel creative, fun and challenging – in a good way! Each week will focus on different themes, responding to the Maramataka, the energy of the day and the needs of the community. Functional fitness principles, somatics as well as a dance form called Muscle and Bone will form the basic structure for each session, and objects such as rocks, long sticks etc will also be employed to keep things creative and offer new ways of engaging different physical systems.

You are welcome to bring your kids along to the training if they are happy to let you train by yourself, or if they are keen to join in. (My kids usually want to jump on my back if they haven’t got someone else to play with, so I leave them with my partner most weekends, or get my friends to bring their kids too!)
